North Atlantic Conference Championship, Middlebury (10/28/06 - 10/29/06)

Colby Water Polo came into the conference championships with high hopes. While Dartmouth had completed the season undefeated, the second, third and fourth seeds had dealt each other losses at some point earlier in the year. With this in mind, the Mules (the third seed) had their sights set on reaching the championship match.

In its first game, Colby took on UVM in what turned out to be another friendly match-up. The Catamounts proved to be no challenge for the Mules as seen in the 14-5 victory.

Moving on to the semi-finals, Colby met up with the BC Eagles for the third time this year. However, learning from the last game, BC heavily guarded Jabez Dewey on the offensive end, while working him into three kick-outs and an ejection on the defensive end. Without Jabez and with a short competitive bench, the Mules had trouble catching up with the much deeper BC squad. In the end, the Eagles, and eventual conference champions, were victorious with a 10-7 win over the Mules.

In the consolation game, Colby and Middlebury played for the conference's bid to the Division III Club Championships. Similar to the BC game, Middlebury, too, had learned how to decapitate the Mule offense. The panthers jumped out to a size-able lead until a fourth quarter comeback made the contest much more respectable. The Mules ended up losing 9-7, accepting fourth place in the conference.

No score sheets were obtained following the tournament so scoring has been left out.
