After taking a wrong turn on the way to the tournament, Colby showed up seconds before the first match with Boston College. The Mules may have come out a bit overly confident after beating BC in five out of the last six matches, but maybe the Mules just hadn't warmed up yet. Regardless, four goals from Jabez Dewey and one goal from Sam Wampler was not enough to beat the Golden Eagles. The final score was 8-5 in favor of BC.
Next up for the Mules was CBB rival Bowdoin College. The Polar Bears did not prove to be much of a challenge, as Colby gathered a relaxed 7-3 victory. Jabez Dewey, again, led all scorers with three goals. Sam Wampler added two goals, while Travis Townsend and Ryan Adams contributed a goal each.
Colby picked up a forfeit victory against Northeastern University when the team did not show up for the tournament.
The final match of the weekend pitted Dartmouth College against the Mules. Historically, there has been a shred of bad blood between these two programs, and the match would prove a hard fought battle. For the third game of the tournament, Jabez Dewey led all Colby scorers with three goals. Megan Litwin and Andrew Peterson each added a goal, but it was not enough to hold off a much better trained and coached Dartmouth team. The final score was 10-5 in favor of Dartmouth.
